Environmental Policy


B & M Europe is committed to minimising the environmental impact of our business operations.

Our staff are aware of company policy and are encouraged to provide feedback on environmental issues.

This policy is reviewed annually and is managed at Board level.


  • Reuse existing materials internally where possible:
    • use scrap paper for printing internal documents
    • use old business cards for notes
  • Send used laser print cartridges to recycling centres for the benefit of charities
  • Donate redundant computer equipment to charities or send to be reconditioned for use in third-world countries

Save Resources

  • Select energy efficient appliances (light bulbs / white goods)
  • Reduce energy consumption where practical
  • Cycle to work where practical
  • Do not leave taps running
  • Use dual-flush toilet facilities (where provided)
  • Reduce our carbon footprint

Recycle Waste

  • Recycle waste through facilities provided by our landlords and the local authority
  • Compost shredder waste.

Reduce waste

  • Dispose of non-recyclable waste in an environmentally sensitive manner


  • Ensure that our suppliers of goods and services take account of environmental criteria
  • Procure wood derived products from sustainable resources


  • Comply with environmental legislation
  • Meet or exceed government standards
